VoiceHerd

VoiceHerd is a native Android mobile application that enables users to connect peer-to-peer in real time. Built with a focus on speed and reliability, the app leverages WebRTC-powered audio streaming to deliver crystal-clear voice communication.

The application supports direct device-to-device connections without relying on a central media server, reducing latency and improving call quality even on lower-bandwidth connections.

Key features include instant peer discovery, low-latency audio channels, background service support so calls continue when the app is minimised, and a clean, intuitive UI designed for ease of use.

The project was developed natively for Android using Java, with the WebRTC library integrated for the media layer. The backend signalling server was implemented in Node.js, handling connection negotiation between peers.
