Application Email Alert

We successfully delivered an automated email notification system for one of our clients. The system enables users to receive alerts whenever resources are contributed by any participant — whether a student, instructor, or administrator — based on fully customisable preferences.

The platform offers over 150 configuration options, giving users granular control over the types of notifications they receive. Notification frequency can be tailored to individual preferences, with options for immediate, daily, weekly, or monthly delivery.

A cron job mechanism automatically sends resource detail notifications to users whose specific category preferences align with newly added resources. This ensures that only relevant, targeted notifications are delivered to each user.

The entire system was built using core PHP and MySQL, with a clean admin interface for managing notification templates, scheduling, and user preference overrides.
